Product Summary
CP-850-24MT and
Size 25 (2-1/2 Inch Diameter)
Below is a summary of the CP-850-24MT and CP-950-24MT (hollow-shaft) 24-bit Absolute Multi-turn Encoder. Data sheets with complete technical specifications are available at CP-850-24MT and CP-950-24MT Data Sheet. Our data sheets are in PDF format and may be viewed using Adobe Acrobat. Our 24 bit multi-turn encoder is completely programmable using a "dumb" terminal. For more details please see our WYSE 50 Terminal Emulation Instructions with a link to the required terminal emulator. It is a small file and it runs under DOS or Windows and is foolproof.
CP-850-24MT and CP-950-24MT 24-bit Absolute Multi-turn Encoder. The 24-bit Absolute Multi-turn Encoder is a size 25, 24-bit absolute programmable encoder. The maximum resolution per turn is 12 bits (4096 positions) and the maximum turns is 4096. Standard coding for the output is Gray, Natural, or BCD/ASCII. A reset input is provided to electronically set the position to zero. All operating parameters are stored in non-volitile EEPROM which means the unit never has to be re-programmed. Position tracking is maintained even while power is off via an internal battery. Position information is formatted as serial (RS232, RS422, RS485, or SSI) or as a parallel 24 bit word (differential line drivers, sink drivers, or source drivers). Additionally, an analog 0-10 Volt and/or 4-20 mA is supplied as a separate output. The unit can be programmed via the RS232 interface (an RS232 interface is always provided with PRG1 or PRG3 models regardless of the serial option selected). The total capacity of the encoder can be specified as either counts/turn and total turns (PRG1) or as counts/turn and full scale (PRG3) which allows fraction of turns. Another programming option (PRG2) allows zero and full scale to be set without using RS232 and may be done after unit is installed In RS485 mode the encoder is addressable to allow operation of up to 32 units over a single I/O line.
